Staff Requests For Offsite Activity

Staff Requests For Offsite Activity

This includes trips in the county, out of the county, out of state, or overnight activities.

Please go to the staff website and complete a Request for Off-Campus Activity form.

      • For out-of-county, out-of-state, or overnight activities the form must be submitted four weeks prior to the next Board Meeting. This will allow you time to get the activity on the Board Meeting Agenda for Board approval.
      • Transportation will not be scheduled until the Board approves the request.
      • The activity must be scheduled to take place after the Board approves.
      • For activities within Monterey County, the form must be submitted no less than 10 teacher workdays in advance of an activity.
      • District Transportation can be denied if the activity conflicts with home-to-school transportation, athletics transportation, bus and driver availability, or submission of a late request.
      • If you plan to charter with an outside transportation provider the Transportation Department will need to verify that the provider maintains the appropriate certifications required for transporting students.
      • The CHP performs bus inspections at 13-month intervals. Bus availability for field trips will be limited during the inspection period.  The inspection period is anticipated to be late November or early December for the 24/25 school year.
      • Because of Home to School transport, field trips cannot depart before 9:00 AM.

Note: If a walking field trip is scheduled and inclement weather is forecast; bus transportation may be provided at no charge.  Bus transportation will be dependent upon bus and driver availability.  Please contact the Transportation Department at minimum 24 hours in advance to confirm availability.

Bus Passes

Bus Passes

To ensure we have accurate ridership numbers and stop locations, all students must obtain a bus pass at the beginning of each school year.  We encourage parents to submit applications as early as possible and allow two weeks for processing. Registration opens each summer and remains available throughout the school year for new riders.  All passes are sent to the office of the student's school site.  Bus passes are checked daily by the driver, we recommond you attach the bus pass to your student's backpack.

Punch Passes

Punch Passes

Bus Punch Passes are for students who do not consistently ride the bus, need a ride to and from school to avoid inclement weather, and for those few times a year when parent transportation is not available.
Each punch pass will cost $10.00 for 10 one-day passes. A one-day pass will allow a student to ride both the home-to-school and/or school-to-home routes.
Families can elect to buy as many 10-day passes as necessary but will not pay more than $100.00 for one student or $150.00 for two or more students in a single school year.
